A seven-week experiential learning intensive, scholarship program, and talent incubator to prepare students in Kansas for careers in blockchain and web3.

This program is designed to give exceptional students in the Midwest deep knowledge and experience around blockchain, digital assets, and web3 to prepare them for careers in the industry.

The Fellowship will consist of weekly classes running from June 13 - July 25 with a final project showcase on Friday, July 26.

Suhaan Syed

Senior in Computer Science, Math, + Biomedical Engineering

Suhaan Syed is a senior at the University of Kansas, studying Computer Science with minors in Math and Biomedical Engineering. He is from Overland Park, Kansas. Suhaan is part of the University Honors Program and a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society. He has been recognized as a Kansas Governors Scholar and has received the Wealthy Babcock-Florance Black Mathematics Scholarship and Garmin Excellence Scholarship.

Ellia Morse

Junior in Computer Science

Ellia began coding at eight and hasnt stopped since. She is from Topeka, Kansas. Her focus is on using technology to improve accessibility, as she believes that automating repetitive jobs through AI can enable people to focus on work that they find more fulfilling.

Shayaan Mohammed

Shayaan is currently pursuing a BS in Computer Science and Economics, with additional emphasis on Applied Mathematics, Data Science and Cybersecurity. Nimra Syed

Junior in Computer Science & Biomedical Engineering

Nimra Syed is from Overland Park, Kansas. At KU, Nimra has been a part of the SELF Leadership Fellowship program since her freshman year. She has held several leadership roles within SELF, including Project Manager for the Community Service Project (CSP), the co-webmaster to manage the SELF website, and the Logistics Co-Lead for the High School Design (HSD) competition. Nimra is also the Recruitment Chair for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) organization and member of Upsilon Pi Epsilon(UPE) honors society.

Wolfgang Sell

Freshman in Cybersecurity Engineering & Economics

Wolfgang Sell is a rising freshman planning to attend the University of Kansas for Cybersecurity Engineering and Economics. Hailing from Shawnee, Kansas, he proudly graduated with honors from Shawnee Mission Northwest Highs class of 2024. There, he took on several positions of leadership such as Captain of the SMSD Cyber Competition Team, Principal Violist of the SMNW Chamber Orchestra, and President of the SMNW Chess Club. He is currently an IT Intern at Garmin.

Teja Nimmagadda

Senior in Interdisciplinary Computing + Biology, Biomedical Engineering, + Cybersecurity

Teja Nimmagadda is a rising senior at KU majoring in Interdisciplinary Computing Biology Concentration, minoring in Biomedical Engineering with a certificate in Cybersecurity. Her hometown is Overland Park, Kansas. She has always had an interest in healthcare and medicine, which had only intensified after working as a Nurse Aide at a hospital where she explored the ways that technology impacts the quality of care received by a patient.

Masen Adelman

Freshman in Computer Science and Economics

Masen Adelman recently graduated from Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas. He plans to pursue a dual degree in Computer Science and Economics, with particular interests in algorithmic trading, cybersecurity, military applications of machine learning, and potential blockchain innovations.

Andrew Huang

Sophomore in Computer Science & Mathematics

Andrew Huang is going into his sophomore year as a student at the University of Kansas, double majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics. He was born and raised in Lawrence, Kansas. This past school year, Andrew has been involved in the Association for Computing Machinery as the Engineering Student Council Representative, and will lead the BugSmashers at ACM this year, giving technical workshops to his peers.

Jay Patel is a rising Junior at the University of Kansas from Gujarat, India. He is majoring in Computer Science. He is incredibly excited to build a blockchain project through the Kansas Blockchain Fellowship and aims to gain immense new knowledge through his first decentralized project.

Eli Chapman

High School Senior | Founder of Computer Science Honors Society at Washburn Rural High School

Eli Chapman is a High School Senior from Topeka, Kansas interested in furthering his knowledge of computer science systems. He has worked with Web Development, earning 2nd place at KUs 2022 Design Competition with a website he made with a partner. Additionally, he founded and led the Computer Science Honors Society at his school to increase early exposure to programming in elementary and middle schoolers. Community is extremely important to him, and he is excited to find new applications for blockchain technology in communities and systems where it will have substantial impact.

Marcos Lepage

Junior in Computer Science

Marcos Lepage is an incoming junior at The University of Kansas studying Computer Science. He is from Lawrence, Kansas. His career interests range from software engineering to AI/ML, and game development. Marcos is excited to build a project in the Web3 space while learning more about blockchain and its use cases in the industry.

Shivansh Shrivas

Junior in Computer Engineering & Cybersecurity

Shivansh Shrivas is an incoming Junior at the University of Kansas studying Computer Engineering and Cybersecurity. Shivanshs interests lie primarily in embedded systems, software development, and cybersecurity. One of his recent projects is from HackKU ’24, where he and his team built a social-good themed social media application using the MERN stack, designed to incentivize younger generations to be involved in their communities.

Ramesh Solasa is a final year graduate student at the University of Kansas pursuing Computer Science. He completed his bachelor's at Indian Institute of Technology Dhanbad. Achieving a remarkable rank of 5100 among one million students, Ramesh earned his place at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Dhanbad, where he pursued his Bachelor's degree in engineering.

Rahul Desai

Senior in Finance

Rahul Desai is a senior at the University of Kansas pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Finance. He is from Overland Park, Kansas. Rahul aspires to become a Financial Analyst and pursue a career in asset management or private equity. Through his internships and part-time jobs, Rahul has developed strong leadership, financial analysis, modeling, and risk assessment skills.

Kyle Spragg

Junior in Computer Science & Business

Kyle Spragg will be a third year student at the University of Kansas this fall, studying Computer Science and Business. He is from Naperville, Illinois, and participates in athletics. He became an Academic All-American in his fourth year of high school sports, and pursued club lacrosse in college. Currently, Kyle is the Vice President of the Kansas Lacrosse Team and a Financial Analyst for the Rock Chalk Investment Club.

Program Outline

The Fellowship consists of:

  • classes at KU's campus every Thursday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM CST
  • meals provided at every class
  • a scholarship of granted in full upon completion of the program
  • a bonus, quadratically allocated award pool for outstanding projects
  • unique portfolio building and networking opportunities
